FORGE Explores the depths of Techno & hard groove on the potent new single “Jokes”, which is out now on Bad Parrot.
Melbourne’s FORGE is dialling in something serious on the new single ‘Jokes’—a late-night weapon built for peak-time chaos. With a bassline that growls and whip-crack percussion that keeps the tension high, this one locks you into a groove and doesn’t let go. It’s techno with a twist—hard groove energy, a playful edge, and just the right dose of weird.
The man behind the project is award-winning producer Stu Turner, who’s already had support from Sasha, Voigtmann, and Chris Luno. You might’ve clocked his collab with Elijah Something (‘Ecstatic Madness’)—and ‘Jokes’ feels like the next evolution: darker, sharper, and more unhinged in all the right ways.
“I made Jokes after a late night out clubbing in Sydney almost a year ago and have been playing it out ever since. The track started with the laughing sample and a happy accident with the whippy synth line, I laid down the rolling bassline to complete the track and have loved watching people get lost in it on dance floors ever since”
Speaking about the elements that make up the track, FORGE says:
Check it out here on Data Transmission and grab it on Beatport.
