Chiqito drops his ‘Grip Pump’ EP on Kwench Records

Chiqito, an artist who’s progressively become a go-to house producer for some of the most eminent names in the game, he now drops a two-track EP ‘Grip Pump’ on Cassy’s Kwench Records label

Exploding onto the scene in 2012 on Cuartero’s imprint Sanity, Budapest-based Hungarian Chiqito has since released on reputed labels ElRow Music, Suara, Rawthentic, Snatch!, Too Many Rules and Toolroom Records, as well as bagging a place as an official artist on DJ Sneak’s I’m A House Gangster. Already in a hotspot position to cite the likes of Jamie Jones, Marco Carola, Hot Since 82, Loco Dice, Matthias Tanzmann and Andrea Oliva as fans, Cassy and fellow A & R Demuir are buzzing to further boost his impressive following.

“It was our A & R Demuir who introduced me to Chiqito after first hearing his music in Chicago two years ago, and he was the lead in bringing him onto Kwench Records. Demuir sees that he’s an important force in our industry when it comes to presenting diverse artistry. He isn’t heavily influenced by trend rules, which is exactly what we want Kwench Records to represent.” – Cassy

Our premiere is the title cut, it’s a bustling bruiser that subsists on a tearing bassline and delivers high-energy, climatic smackdowns.

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
