Chimp Hardy’s ‘Emergency On The Dancefloor’ lands on NUDE Techno today, taken from his debut album ‘Animal’, out 17th July on K Willy Records.
This is where the album starts to properly lose control.
Built as a high-energy “rave opera”, ‘Animal’ follows a city where ravers slowly transform into animals, take over the streets, and build something new from the wreckage. ‘Emergency On The Dancefloor’ sits right in the panic point. The sirens are on. The room is sweating. Order is slipping.
Austin-born and now Berlin-based, Chimp Hardy has spent years carving out a world that sits somewhere between punk attitude, queer club ritual, rave pressure and body-painted chaos. His sets pull from house, techno, breaks, jungle and UK bass without asking permission first, and that same loose-limbed energy runs through this record.
“Sometimes at the peak of the night, when everything’s gone wonky, you look around and think we’ve all lost our minds — and you love it. That’s what ‘Emergency on the Dance Floor’ is about. The drums Going out of your mind, getting crazy, and dancing out all the stress of the week.”
‘Emergency On The Dancefloor’ is raw club theatre. Heavy drums, tense rave signals and a bassline built for basements where the lights have stopped behaving. It has that end-of-the-night urgency, but with purpose behind it. This is not chaos for the sake of it. It’s part of the story.
Across ‘Animal’, Chimp Hardy moves through transformation, recovery, survival and release. Made after a period of recovery, the album brings everything back to the body and the shared madness of the dancefloor. As a queer artist, he also ties it into the deeper history of underground electronic music as a place for freedom, identity and survival.
And today, we’re dropping one of its wildest moments.
Listen to Chimp Hardy’s ‘Emergency On The Dancefloor’ now on NUDE Techno, and keep an eye out for ‘Animal’ when it lands on 17th July via K Willy Records.
