Top 10 Acts Not to Miss at Lost Village
Since launching in 2015, Lost Village rapidly secured its place on the festival map with its unique woodland setting and mind-expanding world of experiences. Not only do they have some of the top names in the electronic music world playing but also treat us to some well-known comedians too. If that isn’t enough to get your taste buds going Lost Village hold a tribal banquet and if it all gets a little too much you can relax at the lake of tranquillity.
So, before I get packed and set off on this magical journey I’m going to share my top ten artists gracing the Lincolnshire forest over the August Bank holiday weekend.
The Black Madonna
A true inspiration to women in music is there nothing this woman can’t do. Founder of We Still Believe, which tells people to leave the issues of the world and your hang-ups at the door and just have fun. If you’ve never witnessed a set by this incredible DJ then I can only assume you have been living under a rock of some description. Seriously not one to miss!
Australian native – London based Jordan Alexander aka Mall Grab has been making some serious waves in the electronic world, still a newbie by all accounts but already a fan favourite with his eclectic and energy filled sets. I recommend listening to “I just wanna” by the man in question, absolute summer vibe if ever I heard one.
After seeing her Dekmantel Boiler room set I have been fascinated by Jayda G. Soulful funk and legendary house anthems is what you can expect from this Canadian DJ. Party vibes all the way through.
A Lost village veteran now, making his third appearance at the festival this year. Ben UFO is one of the last remaining DJs to have not made a production! His rise within the scene is solely the result of his skill as a selector and as a mixer – what a legend.
Already turning heads with her distinctive sound, her sets are a dynamic combination of dark, pulsing house and techno. Peggy is sure to fit in with the whimsical and Narnia like surrounding of Lost Village.
A true master manipulator of techno. Never afraid to push the boundaries of sound or a sound system for that matter. Delving into the deepest darkest corners of the techno world is where you’ll find Mr Avery, so if you like your sound dark and heavy hitting make sure you catch his set.
A young DJ that caught the eye of Scuba early on in her career and yet still she remains an underrated artist. Or:la takes a more selective approach to gigging, most often playing at her own club night Meine Nacht. So catch her while you can!
Having gained recognition not only in the UK but across Europe and America Saoirse is a name you will see on a variety of line ups. With a record collection covering everything from house to jazz, electro to garage and of course techno, you will never know what to expect when you tune into a set of hers but you know one thing for sure, you’ll remember that set for the rest of time.
Since relocating to Berlin in 2010, George Fitzgerald has been churning out the Eps and this year dropped the Album “All that must be” on Domino. George has firmly established himself as a distinguished figure in the electronic music world and continues his ascent into greatness.
And last but by no means least Helena Hauff. Best known for her stripped back techno and electro tracks, a DJ whose music influences draw on sounds from acid house and industrial music. You are not likely to forget her set anytime soon.
