Tim Green – Helpless Sun

Tim Green seems to be reinvigorated recently and it seems people around the world are taking note, not least famed Canadian label My Favorite Robot. Here they tap up the UK talent for a new EP complete with two remixes from Visionquest man Ryan Crosson.

The first original is Helpless Sun featuring Hayley Hutchinson and is a truly stirring and emotive bit of electronica. Starting with noodling guitars and blissed out Balearic synths, slo-mo wavy beats eventually drive things along in a louche late night fashion. Ryan Crosson’s two remixes include a deft, subtle minimal roller and a fantastically eerie beatless version. The other original is ‘Seti’, a stirring bit of instrument and vibes rich house music that is so spiritual it will send shivers down your spine.

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
