Sweden’s best exporter of all things that sound like drum & bass, Seba returns on Warm Communications and brings with him, as expected, more classy 170+ music. Not only that he also brings Blu Mar Ten along with him for the ride.
First up is ‘Never Let You Go’ which is given a rather lovely rework from, in my opinion, one of the D&B scenes most underrated production outfits. Blu Mar Ten grab the reins on this one and take you on a journey on how to craft bass music beautifully. Warm as summer sunset bass lines and subtle snares are the foundation on which beautiful vocals can play alongside it. Melodious chords are filtered in and out of the mix making the remix of Never Let You Go a simply gorgeous cut of music. Seba is back in control on the AA side, Shades Of Me & You. Spoken word vox and ethereal harmonies work with a driving yet not over powering bass, Seba is the master at being minimal with his sounds yet filling the space to flawless musical effect as he does with the 80’s style chords on here.
If you like your drum & bass a little more grown up, musical and long lasting then these two cuts are just what is needed. Blu Mar Ten’s remix of Never Let You Go is a delight to listen to, proving that while D&B’s credentials lie mainly on the dance floor it is also music you can at times put on and lose some minutes to.
