Oval Space – Jimpster plus Special Guest

Oval Space Music announce a summer of independent label showcases set over the venues outside terraces and showcasing a musical alter ego to their main space music programme. Concentrating on unique, niche and quality house music, Freerange Records, Toi.Toi.Musik, Laid, Scissor & Thread, Sneaky, Sushitech, Pett Records and Closer will play these intimate all day Sunday affairs. Overlooking the steel backdrop of the Bethnal Green Gas holders, Oval Space’s locally sourced and organic BBQ’s, smoothies and cocktails will be staple diet for these sun drenched musical affairs with label heads, guests and friends. For the first installment, Oval Space welcome London based Freerange Records which was and still is the brainchild of two close pals Tom Roberts and Jamie Odell. It is a label which has been at the heart of the house community for over 15 years!

One of the UK’s most established and consistent deep house producers, Jimpster, drops his eagerly anticipated ‘Porchlight And Rockingchairs’ LP on 20th May 2013. His first studio album in six years sees him continue where he left of on the 2006 masterpiece, Amour, taking the blueprint of house music and infusing it with an attention to detail and musicality often lacking in much of today’s more disposable dance music. Jamie has maintained a key role in two of the UK’s most successful House labels, Freerange and Delusions Of Grandeur, where he continues to pick up and establish new talent at an impressive rate. Jimpster will be joined by a very special guest at Oval Space, all we know is he is a Swedish house DJ who has released on a plethora of established labels including Hypercolour, Pampa and Pets Recordings. Finding a love for house music at an early age, Matt Masters started working for Freerange Records in early 2004, the label has since played a fundamental part in his musical influences and he now hosts the Freerange Records Radio show with Jimpster. Joining Matt is Delusions Of Grandeur’s Norm De Plume, who is renowned for bringing together slo-mo disco edits through to pacier, more electronic underground house. Franklin is a young house head, set on taking his house sound to the best people and spaces in London. Expect a varied house selection from Franklin from big 808 bass lines and 2-step garage beats to the most heart wrenching Rhodes and keys. A night you should not miss!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
