Norman Jay launches Good Times in the Park

Legendary British DJ Norman Jay MBE is set to launch west London’s first ever music festival, bringing the Good Times’ Collective and a host of friends to Wormwood Scrubs Park on September 13th and 14th.Good Times in the Park will be the first time the Good Times party has been held outside the Notting Hill carnival in their entire 30 year history. Alongside Norman and the Good Times Collective, headliners so far include ten-times GRAMMY® award-winning artist Chaka Khan – putting in an exclusive UK performance – and iconic dance duo Groove Armada, who have expressed their excitement about the project: “We’re really chuffed at being able to perform for Norman at his first festival. The spirit of a festival starts with the crew of people who are involved in it, and that’s the lovely thing about Good Times In The Park, as Norman has people he grew up with and who were a part of the scene involved. That’s where the love and good vibes come from. This is a real full-circle vibe for us. Norman headlined at Lovebox the first year we set that up, so it wouldn’t be right for us if we weren’t able to be a part of Good Times In The Park! There’s a real gap in the market for a London festival like this, with friends and love and the heart of it, as well as raising money for great charities.”That’s not all though; jungle/drum & bass pioneers and respective founders of Good Looking Records and Metalheadz, LTJ Bukem and Goldie, feature alongside the likes of David Rodigan, The Cuban Brothers, Dub Pistols, Fabio & Grooverider, Jeremy Healy, Ms Dynamite and Seb Fontaine.Plus actor and Ibiza Rocks summer resident Idris Elba will be taking to the decks. “Norman is an absolute gent. When he asked me to play at his festival I was well happy! Good Times on a festival scale, in West London is going to be really special, especially as I haven’t been able to perform in the UK this summer.
