Moda Black : Jaymo versus Andy George

2013 was a vintage year for electronic music. Riding high in the charts, dominating festivals and helping to bring some happiness to many a time of austerity, a new generation of artists and labels that sought to push boundaries and challenge conceptions emerged from the underground into the public conciousness. One of these labels was Moda Black, wit the imprint which firmly establishing itself as one of the motifs for the sound of last year as it quickly gathered an impressive roster of some of the scenes most credible names and brightest underground talents.

It was these talents that were showcased on the labels opening compilations Moda Black Volume 1 and 2 which were met with widespread acclaim. Accessibility whilst retaining credibility was the mantra behind the compilation and with that in mind we were excited to hear that the imprint had announced that a third installment was on the way this June. With Moda Black Vol.3 comprising entirely of exclusive and unreleased new music from the likes of Ejeca, M A N I K, Darius Syrossian, Alexis Raphael and Nathan Barato, and mixed by label owners Jaymo & Andy George, it’s fair to say that after hearing the news you could colour us excited.

Label releases aside, it looks to be a similarly exciting summer for the Moda Black bosses Jaymo & Andy George on the DJing front with a series of globetrotting dates booked in for the summer months including hotly anticipated appearances at Serbia’s Exit Festival and Creche’s Ibiza adventure. So with a big few months ahead we decided to invite Jaymo and Andy in for a chat with a difference as little did they know that they’d both be asking and answering the questions! Here is Jaymo Vs Andy George!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
