Edu Imbernon & Los Suruba – Fayer

Spain’s Edu Imbernon has cropped up on a number of renowned labels recently, not least More Music, Get Physical and Stil vor Talent. Even so, his debut for Culprit represents a formidable leap forward, but it’s a test that both he and his compatriots Los Suruba pull off with some aplomb on the excellent Fayer EP.

The two-track affair wastes no time in bursting into life courtesy of the title-track, one that’s loaded with the sort of characteristics we’ve come to expect from both Mr. Imbernon and the Los Suruba boys. Suffice to say, then, this is a record that’s drenched in weighty, tech-house leaning atmosphere, with its watertight grooves and steady, unfurling pace proving a real joy on the ears.

Italian production duo Dirty Channels have seen their stock rise no end in recent time, too, with their remix of the original indicative of their own strengths. Their interpretation is deep, intelligent and above all, subtle, with its many luscious sonic soundscapes proving a tasty ode to what’s arrived before. House music for discerning heads.
