5 Techno Artists to Watch in March 2020
Share
While techno has been alive and well for almost 40 years now, the musical genre has experienced a meteoric explosion in popularity over the last few. Needless to say, there are also countless techno artists out there, with more and more appearing every day. Despite this, we’ve recognized some clear gems from around the world who are only going to turn up the heat in 2020 with their talents.

Indepth
Shahar Melamed, a.k.a “Indepth” is based out of Tel Aviv, Israel but his tunes often travel much further. Even before it was popular, he was creating ethereal, trance-like melodies which attracted the devoted fanbase he has today. His ingenuity has landed him on top labels such as Etruria Beat and Voltage, with the “King of Cosmic Techno”, Pleasurekraft, often playing his tunes.

Ignacio Arfeli
Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina and based in Berlin, 2019 was a breakout year for Ignacio. Although he’s a relative newcomer, the young artist has already created a space for himself with raw sounds, textures and dark percussions. Crossing the line between underground and more commercial productions, he’s landed himself on some of the most respected labels in the world, like AnalyticTrail, Suara, Octopus, and Noir Music. Charlotte De Witte has frequently opened festivals with his tracks, and many other giants in the scene drop his music on their touring playlists.

Shay De Castro
The 26-year-old, Shay De Castro from the US burst onto the scene last year with releases on Bitten, Prospect Music and Funk’n Deep. However, it was her collaboration EP with Nihil Young, ‘Dichotomy’, which really started to turn eyes and ears her way. Since then, her thumping, bass-heavy tracks are regularly found in sets from Amelie Lens, Enrico Sangiuliano, T78 and other techno greats. Her energy behind the decks and artistry in the studio promise even more success this year.

Blicz
If you find yourself in a Paris warehouse, you can only hope that Blicz is playing. The French talent possesses a powerful vision of hard, acid techno complemented by meticulous melodies that have fueled raves around the world. With his new vinyl release ‘Terraforma’ almost here on Etruria Beat, we have a feeling we’ll only be seeing more of him in the future.

2nd Phase
2nd phase is a refreshing Scottish duo consisting of Stuart McLellan and Gary Edgar. Having signed to Armada Music and Black Hole Recordings in the past, their trance roots have translated over well to techno, with their track “Absolute Warper” on AnalyticTrail currently in the top 100 techno charts on Beatport. Hypnotic, monstrous synths and heavy kicks are plentiful with these lads.
