358 – Felix Cartal

And now for something completely different. Following on from the supercharged drum and bass sounds of last weeks stellar podcast from DC Breaks we have now decided to paddle across the Atlantic to secure the talents of Taelor Deitcher to deliver this weeks exclusive mix. Better known by his stage name, Felix Cartal, the Canadian electronic music maestro has been making serious waves within the industry since bursting onto the scene when he released his first EP ‘Skeleton’ in 2009 upon signing with Dim Mak Records. Still only 26 he has since gone on to achieve more than most producers do in a lifetime, already releasing no less than two full length albums, a string of well received EPs and toured around the world with the likes of Wolfgang Gartner, MSTRKRFT, and Bloody Beetroots.

Despite keeping such revered company, Felix remains a curious trendsetter, always looking to explore new avenues of creativity as evidenced by him setting the precedent for electronic artists working with unpredictable vocalists by hooking up with artists such as Sebastien Grainger of Death from Above 1979, Maja Ivarsson of The Sounds and Johnny Whitney of The Blood Brothers for unorthodox collaborations. So with his full skill set on show during this exclusive set tune in for the bumpy ride!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
