346 – Daddy’s Groove

This weeks podcast sees us again turn to Italy for an exclusive mix delivered by the immensely talented three piece outfit Daddy’s Groove. Also known as Black Raw, Daddy’s Groove is the collective moniker of Gianni Romano, Carlo Grieco, and Peppe Folliero who have been taking the Italian club scene by storm thanks to their bizarre instinct for domestic productions and killer edits. After quickly forging a reputation as leading DJs in their native country they were approached by a number of underground labels to make their production debut and before long ‘Falling’ was produced and in the record bags of some of the worlds leading DJs. Bigger releases followed with the trio peddling their wares for some of the scenes biggest labels such as Axtone, Joia, Defected, Malligator and Netswork among many others.

Throughout 2013 Daddy’s Groove have continued to assert their dominance over today’s electronic music scene. Released in January, ‘Stellar’ quickly reached #3 in the Beatport Top 10 chart, with its official video amassing more than 1.4 million views on Youtube. This massive success was quickly followed-up by a handful of other huge singles such as ‘Vertigo’ on Guetta’s Jack Back label, or ‘Unbelievable’ feat. Rob Adans [Doorn], which reached the No.2 position in the Beatport chart.

As well as DJ’ing at the most prestigious clubs and events around the world, Daddy’s Groove have recently embarked upon their residency at David Guetta’s renowned ‘F*** Me I’m Famous’ residency at Pacha, Ushuaïa, Ibiza & Miami and continue to have big plans for the future. So with all that in mind we thought the time was right to get them to drop one of their acclaimed sets for our DT followers. Turn it up and think of sunnier times…

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
