297 – Kry Wolf
Kry Wolf have been described as the best underground team since the teenage mutant ninja turtles. At least they have now as we’ve earmarked that particular honor for the latest British duo to be taking electronica by storm. The brains behind south coast underground party brand Sumo as well as their own label Sounds of Sumo it seems the pairing have increasingly heavyweight plans for the future. Playing a varied mix of their own productions that repeatedly cross the many spectrums of electronic music from house to garage, tech, to experimental the boys do it all and with them gaining some serious airplay from the likes of Zinc, Buraka Som Sistema and Roska we thought it was about time they showcased their skills for us here at DT. Catch them on the 15th of March playing at Apogee with Behling & Simpson at Basing House. Who said it wasn’t good to Kry Wolf?
What’s your personal favourite track on it? has to be club lonely – old classsic
What’s the special ingredient in this mix? Something old, something borrowed and something new
What’s the best gig you’ve played recently? Either speakerbox in london because it was the first time we did something on that scale or a exeter – bit of a wildcard but had one of the most receptive crowds we’ve played to and a lovely gang to top it off!
What have you got coming up?Currently putting the finishing touches to our next ep for sos & slowly putting together our mix compilation for food music.
And finally, do you have a special message for our readers? We hope you enjoy this mix. There’s a fair amount of unreleased tracks that are forthcoming on our labels Food Music & Sounds of Sumo so look out for them.
