283 – Brodanse

Brodanse is pairing of London based brothers Austen and Scott Smart. They started DJ’ing in 2007 after they made a mashup and gave it to a club as a ‘demo’, the owner liked and despite not really knowing how to DJ, they had their first gig.

In 2011 Brodanse was officially formed, after five years of learning the ropes of production and they’ve never looked back since. Turning in knock-out originals, remixes and now they’ve started the highly reputable Danse Club Records the future is looking extremely bright for the pair.

Sum up this podcast in 10 words…
‘The Sounds of The Danse’ concentrated into a vivacious Golden Ratio mix.

What’s your personal favourite track on it?
Well there is two of us so: Burrell Brothers – Non Stop (Lula Circus Remix) [Forthcoming on Danse Club Records]. Brodanse – Bassment (Lumino Remix) // [Forthcoming on Fullbarr Digital]

What’s the special ingredient in this mix?
Following the ancient Golden Ratio rule and mixing harmonically; this mix is a combination of mathematics and passion.

What’s the best gig you’ve played recently?
Wall 2 Wall at Cornershop in Shoreditch on NYE. Vibe was just awesome (awesome like 10 hot dogs) and the crowd were responding to everything we did!

Grahame Farmer

Grahame Farmer’s love affair with electronic music goes back to the mid-90s when he first began to venture into the UK’s beloved rave culture, finding himself interlaced with some of the country’s most seminal club spaces. A trip to dance music’s anointed holy ground of Ibiza in 1997 then cemented his sense of purpose and laid the foundations for what was to come over the next few decades of his marriage to the music industry.
