1st Birthday Weekender At XOYO

On Friday 30th August and Saturday 31st August, East London’s well-respected nightclub XOYO celebrates their 1st Birthday Weekender with a huge double-header. As LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy heads the Friday night and Chicago legend Derrick Carter tops Saturday – this party’s set to be unmissable. It’s been a year of huge change for the Shoreditch nightclub and there’s no better way to champion this than presenting another two line-ups of big, global talent…

Fronting LCD Soundsystem (RIP) and responsible for the prolific NY-label DFA, It’s an understatement to say the capital’s excited about James Murphy’s return. His latest ventures have got the world talking (check the mammoth vinyl-only soundsystem he’s built alongside 2ManyDJs); making sure he remains an influence across all genres. Yuksek also sits on top of this billing. With the third EP out on his Party Fine imprint and hints of a collaboration with Alex Metric, this is the time to catch him. Parisian deep house duo The Mekanism and London disco-favourites Mighty Mouse, The C90s and Punks Jump Up are all in support.

A year on since XOYO changed hands celebrations continue on Saturday with another dance music hero: Derrick Carter. Internationally known for his leading house credentials, don’t miss out on this opportunity to see him delve deep into his extensive disco collection as he readies his ‘Derrick Carter Does Disco’ set. Heads are excited for Chilean producer and Kompakt affiliate Matias Aguayo as he promises live vocals on the night. London’s Wolf Music crew are also represented at this party as KRL and Greymatter step up.  Deep Shit’s Kiwi and the Love Fever DJs are in support.
