SAViSTO continues a strong run of underground house releases with ‘From My Mind’, a new two-track release on 63b, pairing the hypnotic title track with the tougher, late-night energy of ‘Feel It’.
The release marks another chapter in a project that has steadily gathered momentum across the minimal, deep tech and underground house scenes. Behind SAViSTO is Rob Savage, an artist with more than two decades of experience spanning DJing, production, international touring and music for television and media. Long before launching his current alias, Savage had played clubs including fabric, Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, XOYO, The Cross and Egg London, alongside festival appearances at Glastonbury, Glade and The Big Chill.
From Rob Savage to SAViSTO
The SAViSTO project has given Savage a focused outlet for the deeper, groove-led side of his sound. Rather than chasing oversized drops, his recent productions have centred on rolling drums, weighty basslines, subtle hooks and arrangements built around the way records actually work in a club.
That approach has taken SAViSTO onto an increasingly impressive selection of labels. His catalogue includes releases with Josh Butler’s ORIGINS RCRDS, Tom Bug’s DOBAR House, Platform 7even, Talisman Music, MOISS Music, Whoyostro, Buslife Records, R-TRYBE, Bona and Lisztomania, alongside his growing relationship with 63b.
One of the project’s earlier breakthroughs came through the ‘Reflections EP’ on Mexican label Talisman Music, which reached #12 in Beatport’s Minimal / Deep Tech chart. That was followed by releases including the ‘Gratitude EP’ on Platform 7even and further appearances across a widening network of underground house imprints.
Recent records have included ‘Bisco Discuit’ and ‘Make Me Dance’ on ORIGINS RCRDS, the ‘Sidewinder EP’ and ‘Elevation EP’ on DOBAR House Gruv, ‘Play This Game’ on Bona, ‘Enjoy The Ride’ on R-TRYBE and material for Lisztomania.
Building a Relationship with 63b
SAViSTO first arrived on 63b with the two-track ‘Solar Shaker’ / ‘Satisfaction’ release. ‘Solar Shaker’ introduced his stripped-back approach to the label through rolling low-end, crisp percussion and slowly developing layers, while ‘Satisfaction’ pushed towards a sharper and more urgent club sound.
He followed that with ‘Time To Jam’, further establishing the connection between SAViSTO’s minimal, groove-first production style and 63b’s deeper club direction. The label itself sits within the Data Transmission network, with its name referencing 63b Clerkenwell Road, the former home of London club Turnmills, where Data Transmission began.
Now SAViSTO returns with ‘From My Mind’.
SAViSTO – ‘From My Mind’
Built around rolling drums, deep basslines and an infectious vocal hook, ‘From My Mind’ wastes little time establishing its groove.
There is plenty happening beneath the surface, but nothing fights for attention. Crisp percussion moves around the rhythm while restrained melodic touches add colour without pulling the track away from its stripped-back foundations.
It is a record that relies on repetition in the right places. The vocal becomes part of the rhythm, the bassline keeps everything moving and small changes throughout the arrangement maintain tension without breaking the hypnotic feel.
The result sits comfortably between minimal house and deep tech, with enough character to stand out without losing the functionality that has increasingly defined SAViSTO’s productions.
‘Feel It’ Turns Up the Pressure
On the flip, ‘Feel It’ shifts the release into tougher territory.
The low end carries more weight, the drums hit harder and the overall energy feels geared towards the later stages of a set. Where ‘From My Mind’ draws dancers in through repetition and groove, ‘Feel It’ applies more direct pressure.
Together, the two tracks show the different sides of SAViSTO’s current sound without feeling disconnected. One is hypnotic and controlled; the other pushes harder while retaining the same emphasis on rhythm and movement.
Another Step Forward for SAViSTO
‘From My Mind’ arrives during a productive period for an artist who is hardly new to club culture, but who has found fresh momentum through the SAViSTO project.
His experience shows in the details. These are records made with an understanding of how DJs use music and how seemingly small changes in percussion, bass and arrangement can alter the energy of a room.
With releases already spanning ORIGINS RCRDS, DOBAR House, Talisman Music, Platform 7even, MOISS Music, Whoyostro, Buslife and 63b, SAViSTO has quietly built a catalogue connecting established underground labels with a clear and increasingly recognisable production style.
And with ‘From My Mind’ backed by ‘Feel It’, his latest return to 63b strengthens that identity further.
